JD

Quarter Horse Gelding

Initial Assessment

Jd's hind feet are underrun.  Front feet show some contraction, but not severe.  Wall is thin, but healthy.

Recommendations

All of the horses at this facility show signs of trace mineral imbalance.  The well water analysis shows considerable iron; our typical hay profile is extremely high in iron as well.  Adding copper, zinc and manganese to appropriate ratios would be advisable.

Trim Notes

JD is doing very well.  He is on the So Cal Custom Blend, and wall quality has already improved.  He has beautiful concavity.  Hind heels still underrun, but keeping his toes rolled back to improve breakover will encourage this to change.
