Fancy

Quarab Mare

Initial Assessment

Fancy was quite overgrown, but under all that excess material, her feet are remarkably healthy. We'll have to be diligent with the crack Fancy has on that right front, but it was simply the length of her toes that caused it, so we shouldn't have a problem growing that out with timely trimming & soaking to prevent infection in the crack. If it still persists with a good strong bevel at the toe, I'll resect the corners of the crack next trim.

Recommendations

Soaking to mitigate any bacterial issues in the toe crack, as well as address thrush, are indicated.  Diet assessment is recommended.

Trim Notes

Fancy's white line separation and lots of solar bruising have me concerned.  Diet is still likely an issue.  She has been taken off of alfalfa in favor of bermuda, but mineral balancing remains unaddressed.

Awesome progress!  Fancy's thrush is gone, thanks to diligent hoof scrubbing.  She is still growing out some white line separation, but Fancy's switch to bermuda has made a huge improvement in white line integrity, and should continue to do so.  Sole quality is superb!
