Anouk

Friesian mare

Initial Assessment

Anouk has been barefoot since February 2008. Prior to going barefoot, she had periods of intermittent, undiagnosed discomfort. Growth rings indicate inflammation of the laminae. Anouk's feet are essentially good -- good sole coverage, wide healthy frogs. Her left hind is considerably imbalanced to the eye. Sole plane indicates some leveling is possible, but invading sole plane on one side will imbalance the underlying structures.

Recommendations

Diet assessment recommended in light of evidence of prior laminitis attack.
